Bring It Home Prayers | Day One

A Prayer of Surrender

Lord,

I love you and praise your name. I have confidence that when I ask anything according to your will, you hear me and you answer me. Thank you for hearing me.

Lord, please forgive me of my sins. Though they are many, I thank you for the sufficient covering you provided for me by sending your Son to wash my sins away. Forgive me for the idols in my life that I put before you and the times I try to be my own god. Please open my eyes to the ways I am sinning against you, the people around me, and myself. Please change my heart and renew my mind. Help me to be holy as you are holy.

Lord, today I pray for the fruits of your Holy Spirit to overflow in my life. Lead me in the way of righteousness. Help me to be patient and and self-controlled. Help me to bear with people and show grace. Let love, peace and joy reign in my heart and mind today.

Lord, I surrender every thought, emotion, interaction, and circumstance to you. I lay my plans at your feet and ask you to guide me in everything I say and do today. Please align my heart and desires to yours, for your ways are perfect.

Amen.

Scripture

  • “I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.” 1 John 5:13-15

  • “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

  • “God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:2

  • “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” Galatians 5:19-26

  • “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

  • “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8
